Nick Pierce, a talented young boy whose singular obsession is music, finds
himself overturned from a lonely life with his grandmother in Wichita, Kansas to
the rather strange atmosphere of life in Western Kansas with the father he had
never met. Although a friendly neighbor couple takes Nick under their wing,
circumstances in life and his father’s attitude work against him.
In search for a way to fulfill his uttermost desires, he enters into a world of
the unknown – a stranger world that leads him into questioning right from wrong.
In the face of a life-threatening sickness, Nick wonders if life could offer him
a little more, if music may still flow from his fingers, in praise to the
Father-God.

By Darlene Shortridge "Author" (Wisconsin):
One of the greatest challenges we have as
Christians is to love those who have not yet found the grace that we live under
without compromising our firm belief in turning away from sin. Erin does a
fabulous job of sharing the story of Nick, a young man who grows up without the
positive influence of a father. He finds himself questioning the God of the
universe on matters of love, security, assurance and faith. The circumstances
surrounding his life lead him to living a controversial lifestyle in a world
where sin is embraced and justified. Travel with Nick as he comes to understand
the true love of a father from the Father of all Fathers.

This is an amazing book! The author deals with very sensitive issue of
homosexuality that is so prevalent in todays cultue. She vividly depicts the
feelings and frustrations on both sides of the issue and ultimately shines
through with the truth of Gods word and a very loving spirit. his book is a must
read and I highly recommend it. I was captivated from the first chapter to the
last and I consider myself a very picky reader. I hope the author will soon
write another book!!!!. [note that we have left this reviewers typos

This was a unlike any book I have ever
read. I was really intrigued with my own emotional ties to the real world as I
read it. I watched my heart change as I could not set it down without turning
the next page to see where it was leading. Will there be more?

The Fatherless is a great book about a
boy entering his teen years and the choices he makes. It really caused me to
think about my attitude toward someone who isn't just like me. It also made me
think about how I can affect others by friendship and prayer. I enjoyed the
setting of western Kansas.

This first time author has shown that there is
more to writing than a great deal of experience. She has taken a potentially
volitile subject and treated it with sensitivity, understanding and insight.
This novel has obviously been written from the heart and promises to touch many
who read it. I look forward to reading more of her work.

The fast pace and details makes one
wonder, "how can this book possibly be her first book?" Well written and great
reading. Not wanting to lay the book down until you find what is on the next
page. I am looking forward to her next book.
